Driver training programs focus on the development of competencies associated with the operation and control of a motor vehicle.
A driver training program (behind-the-wheel) is not required as a standard component of driver education programs in NSW public schools. It is not part of the NSW curriculum.
NSW public high schools may choose to offer driver training as part of a whole-school road safety education program. The establishment of such a program should be done in consultation with the school community.
